Meet the founders

tapp was born from a decade-long friendship and a shared mission to fix a broken industry.

Benjamin spent over ten years in the trenches of restaurant management. He saw firsthand how the "neighborhood gems" were being buried by lack of visibility, while clunky, outdated management systems did more to hinder service than help it. To him, the industry felt trapped by tech that cost too much and delivered too little.

Soufiane, a software engineer, saw the solution through a different lens. He realized that technology which should have been a bridge to the community had become a gatekeeper, making it harder for diners to discover the soul of their own cities.

They spent years trading stories over dinner about the local spots that deserved better. Eventually, they stopped talking and started building. By combining Benjamin's hospitality expertise with Soufiane's technical vision, they created tapp. A fair, pay-as-you-go platform designed to put the spotlight back on the kitchen and the seat back in the community.
